I do have a busy day, and a busy week planned. Work this morning, and a Toastmasters meeting tonight, along with other Toastmasters meetings this week.

Same q.

Red, I'm so glad there were compassionate souls at your Uni. I don't recall that I ever received an extension.
Istomin, You inspire me! You're always so busy and successful with Toastmasters!

My day is low key, with housework and reading. I might go for a swim in the evening.

Do you like swimming laps?

I do, but I am self-conscious about form. I never learned to swim properly  .

Would you rather swim in the ocean, a lake, a river, or a pool?

A river, but not in Washington--too glacial! I like the Smith River in California.

Do you prefer landscapes or cityscapes?

Landscapes. I'm not very fond of cities much.

Same question.

Cityscapes. I have one of München and one of Istanbul in my room.

Scrabble, Boggle, Monopoly, Sorry, Trouble, Tock

I never learned checkers, chess, or Clue. I was afraid of Battleship and Candy Land.

Do you hum to music?

Nope.

Do you like cameos (i.e., the kind that ladies used to wear)?

Hey --- I still wear a cameo or other brooch on occasion!

I have some cameo portraits as well!

Do you have difficulty with the first few chapters of new books? I'm struggling to sort all the characters in Adam Bede.

 My wife wore her great-great-grandmother's cameo around her neck for our wedding.

I never got past the first few chapters of AB, but I suppose it wasn't confusing compared to the Russian novel I'm reading now (on Prometheus's recommendation).

Have you ever seen a chicken egg without a hard shell?

I don't think AB is inherently confusing, but any new story with lots of characters is a slow-go for me. I remember the first 80 pages of Shirley, with the various curates, was especially tough. Then I fell in love with the book.

No, I haven't seen a chicken egg without a hard shell.

Do you like motor scooters?
