A few times. It was pretty nice.

Did you dislike carbonated drinks when you were younger?

Yes, several times for wagon, and a few times each for sleigh and carriage.

I've never really liked carbonated drinks.

Have you carved a jack-o-lantern?

Yes & yes.

Those are really nice, Prometheus. I wear Mary Janes a lot, for comfort. ^

I thought that was what they were called. I'm entirely ignorant here, unfortunately. If you can achieve comfort along with style, you're doing pretty well. Personally, all shoes seem about equally comfortable to me.

Do you feel afraid of the way the world is changing?

Yes, but also how history may repeat itself.

Same question.

Yes. There's no hope for humanity. Especially my generation. I expect that the world, in thirty years' time, will be unrecognisable, and dominated by the Chinese economically and politically. We're too self-obsessed and immoral in the West to sustain ourselves.

Have you ever attended a church service on the European continent?

I've walked into a church while a service was going on----but I didn't participate in the service.

Do you prefer the main part of the cathedral----or one of its chapels?

For RC and (older) Anglican Churches, side chapels. EO cathedrals don't have them.

Same question.

You're making me squiggle. I love Anglican chapels and naves.

It depends - what cathedral?

Have you ever visited a synagogue or mosque?

Yes to both.

A couple of synagogues, never a mosque.

Do you wear perfume/cologne?

Unfortunately not, although I'd rather like to. I'm especially fond of synagogues.

I very rarely wear cologne, although I still have a collection worth several hundreds of pounds from when I did.

What do you think of Judaism and Islam, respectively?

The mosque I attended was Hindu, not Muslim. It was beautiful. Perhaps it's called a temple rather than a Mosque?

I admire all religions, and have always had an interest in Judaism.

I don't know much about Islam. The two seem to be related and have a strong connection to local cultures.

Do you know any Buddhists?

Not true Buddhists.

"Hindu mosque"? For shame! :jester:

I, too, admire all religions. I think it's a shame that the Muslims didn't embrace the printing press sooner; this seems to have been part of the reason for the collapse of their Golden Age.

I have a great deal of affection for Judaism and Jewish culture. For various reasons, it was indirectly responsible for shaping much of my thought about deeper questions as a teenager. I love the mystique of the religion and its rituals. I seriously considered converting to to Judaism, some years ago, though I'm glad I'm now a Christian instead.

I've met a few self-identified "Buddhists". They were almost invariably western, privileged, New Age types looking for something to anaesthetise their emotional pain and fill the moral and spiritual void caused by their parents' fashionable refusal to bring them up as Christians.
