I don't know why I assumed there were two interviewers. There were two people (other than Hitchens) in the room, but only one of them said anything, unless I'm mistaken.

If anybody had any doubt about the degradation of standards in our universities, he only needs consider that the intellectually third-rate lout who conducted the interview with Hitchens will have at least a bachelor's degree within a year or two - if not already.
Hitchens wasn't actually at his best here; presumably he was confused by the irregularity of the set-up, and just how stupid his interviewer was.
