I like formalities, and think it's traditional to hear Miss / Mrs in tennis. Do they say Mr. ? I've never watched a match.

I believe so. Istominfan will know; I'm more of a cricket man.

For my part, I consider it a disgrace to a treasured national institution. As Hitchens points out in the article, Wimbledon is (was?) one of the few remaining bourgeois institutions in Britain; presumably, that's why the vandals had to be called in. Nothing of value is safe.
