hi, jkt. nice to see you! what is a kentucky mule? I shall google.

Chimay ale. Have tried it in past, and liked it very much, and had a different veriety in my refrigerator for the past couple of months and thought I'd give it a try. For some reason, beer can make my heart race. Not sure why. Another thing to research...

always nice to see your posts, Britte. it appears to be a moscow mule made with bourbon rather than vodka. i used non-alcohol ginger beer which is much more like ginger ale. when i run out of ginger beer, i use 12 oz ginger ale. 3 oz bourbon and 1 oz lime juice. over ice. very nice in the summer :D

Thanks jkt, and thanks for the information. I have only tried an alcohol-free, ginger beer, but, I know the original Ginger Beer contained alcohol, but, I looked it up, after reading your response. Is it safe to assume that you use one with alcohol? Perhaps, a stupid question, given that your drink is made with bourbon! I cant say I've tried bourbon. The only hard alcohol I have tried was Tequila, which I found retched, and Vodka, that they served at a work lunch thing. It was simply vodka with an extensive amount of fresh squeezed lemon juice, which I found incredibly strong but not bad. On a couple of occasions, I made a ginger-lemonade with fresh rosemary, and added some vodka and quite enjoyed it. I prefer beer on occasion, like a hoppy IPA, which I was introduced to a couple of years, ago, and I have since enjoyed, trying different IPAs. Also, not sure if they have the following in your neck of the woods, but a favorite of mine is Anchor Steam beer, from San Francisco, CA. It is made, exclusively of Barley, and has a nice bitter flavor. I am quite fond of bitterness. I actually find dark chocolat and beer a nice combo. Holy cow, I am rambling.

Currently, I'm enjoying a cup of fresh, lemongrass tea.

I have only tried alcohol-free, ginger beer, also (Reeds and Trader Joe's). There are many hard liquors i have not tried but I tried Bourbon because I like New Orleans and they have Bourbon Street. If you liked vodka with fresh squeezed lemon, there is a good chance you will like Moscow Mule. It is good with fresh squeezed lime. San Francisco is another favorite city of mine :D

Thanks for the Anchor Steam recommendation!

I had a Kentucky Mule earlier and recently water :)

I have only been to New Orleans (Louisiana, for that matter), on one occasion, when driving cross-country with an old friend, and I have fond memories of Bourbon Street. For me, it felt as though I was in a film. It was a completely different environment than I had ever experienced. I dont imagine fairing as well if I were to go at this point in my life. Perhaps, I will try a Moscow Mule. Thank you for suggesting that I might like it. You are most welcome for the beer mention. I, too, love San Fransisco. I love getting lost and discovering new and interesting places, and San Fransisco is a wonderful city for such the adventure, and being surrounded by exquisite architecture! Nice chatting with you, jkt! ~Cheers

Still sipping the same cup of tea...
