That's BS!

Men talk ALL the time and most of the time they're talking s**t about women!
TO EACH OTHER!
So you have this culture of silence to they're 'supposed' Beloved!
And then you have this other subculture where all the men get together
and women are beasts of burden and whores and sluts and child bearing prisoners!
And the most onerous of ALL!
the property of men!

sickening

It's because we have to engage our brains and think about what we're going to say. That takes more time and effort than just letting our mouths freewheel without direction. :D

I'm sorry if that sounds like a dig against women. It's not.

It's a dig against extroverts of any gender. :D

Have to disagree there. You may not say much - and I don't (least not vocally) - but there are loads of men who prattle on. I haven't noticed a gender split in this. There may well be a phenomenom of men not saying much to their significant others, giving the impression men don't talk, but my experience of people watching has men gabbing on plenty.

Just as I suspected.

Except my man, of course, who "brags on his wife" all the time. At least he claims to. It would be nice to hear all these wonderful things he says about me myself, because I don't believe them, and I don't always believe he believes them either.

Does it stoke a man's ego to tell other men how wonderful his wife is all the time? Even if what he's saying isn't technically true? Or does it just piss the other men off, because they'd rather talk about how women are "beasts of burden and whores and sluts and child bearing prisoners...and...the property of men?"

Hi guys ... I decided to seek out your man cave because you gender has been visiting the Women's Discussion. Bit cramped in here. I can see why your issues spill out into the other sub-forums
So men ... I have observed in my 45 years that the roles of the genders are changing. I believe this is a result of birth control, the feminist movement, and the acceptance of divorce. As a female who is on the spectrum and does not want children I find myself lost for self-definition. I tried being a wife once and was a complete failure. So now I am embracing the solitary life. It sucked for a while, but I'm starting to get my footing. So my question is: what role do you see women filling in the future? Child bearers is a given, but do you see the man/woman, long-term relationship as something that is viable in the modern world?
ps. I think there should be a men's forum. Men's health, male rape and issues of child custody are just some of the issues that posters may be unlikely to post about in other sub-forums.

Secular society will not produce many children
religious people have more kids , so in the future traditional roles will stay, but there is an equality movement in even the most traditional religious cultures

Hence the reason I'm for the secular approach. In a world of 6 billion: more kids = more mouths to feed = more competition for resources = more war, famine, etc. In the modern world where resources are ever dwindling and medicine enables most children to reach adulthood relatively healthy there is no need for dozens of children. At this stage in our species' development more population only leads to more problems, we actually need to thin population by having less children, not more.

The trend will continue away from "it is a mans world" to a world where women set most of the agenda.

Or there could be a balance between men and women and a consensus on the agenda.

Women have always assumed the friend role vis a vis men.

Eleanor Roosevelt was a prime example of this.

A.k.a., the dreaded "Friend Zone" - that social state wherein a woman will remain polite and civil to a man, and still avoid his attention and company whenever possible.

one of the biggest mysteries of all time is what exactly makes (x) sexy?
if beauty doesn't mean sexy , if skin doesn't mean sexy, so what makes someone sexy?

look at this person

Image

she's obviously not ugly, but even if she was not wearing anything, still not sexy at all. I feel bad for her because she's desperately trying to be someone else, she does terrible and inappropriate things on the stage, etc and still not sexy lol

on the other hand. look at this woman? even at her age still completely sexy although she dresses modestly and everything.
