Dear Jamieevren, Seriously, horse urine?

How did someone first think of that?
Trying to find an effective method of poisoning people?
And then deciding it tasted good?

I need, really NEED a hot cup of tea, now.

Sylkat

Rice is the biggest cause of food poisoning. I'd avoid that if I were you.

I eat rice like dinners all the time, no problems yet.
I must just be an awesome cook or something

Rice is fine as long as it's cooked at above 70oC and served immediately. Reheating or eating at an ambient temerature isn't a good idea.

Dear Jamieevern,
What kind of 'extreme' things do 'hardcore' Chinese diners eat?
I'd really love to know....

I was just going to ask the very same thing.
I'm guessing penises feature, maybe eyeballs?
I used to work in the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant while at college and the cooks ate very little off the actual menu. They mostly ate things like fish heads in some sort of soup.

^Reminds me of the programme here called I'm a celebrity, get me out of here. One of the challenges is to eat horrible things including animal genitals. I couldn't watch that part. :eew:

Also WP is about to crash yet again I think...

Pig blood cake...ok for me
Swallow nest soup...okay...
Monkey brains...no. Nope. Never.
Shark fins...used to like it, but now I hate it because they kill sharks solely for their fins and toss them back into the ocean to die.
Bear paws...same. Never!
Stinky tofu...never tried it. Smells gross.
Yeah, fish heads. But those were probably leftovers? Some consider them delicacies!
Hmm, what else?
Actually, Chinese cuisine is actually a regional thing. Folks generally eat anything they get. In Taiwan, we prefer milder choices. Also I seldom really eat Chinese food. We have a lot of choices here in Taipei, name any country and we've probably got a restaurant focusing on that type of food. I eat stuff like spaghetti and sandwiches, or just rice, veggies, and meat.
Here is a pic of taiwan's national drink. Many of you probably tried this already. It's awesome. It's pearl milk tea. Essentially, milk tea with tapioca balls!
