I relate a lot to what you wrote about order, Isabella, consistency and precision are things I value highly and need.

You'll notice even on WP I'm a stickler for consistency in the ways rules are enforced. I need predictable patterns. My closet might be disorganised but at least that's predictable. :)

Yes I'm at peace with me. I'll never be "a normal person" but that's OK.

The more I look at my family I realise no one is really NT. Everyone has their own form of diversity; even if they aren't autistic, they have OCD or ADHD. I just looked up "forms of neurodiversity" and it includes left-handedness??? There are certainly a lot of left-handed people in my family, especially on my dad's (more autistic) side.

My view of NT is, therefore, mostly from television. NTs scare me because I don't understand their patterns.

I've met some great ones, some horrible ones and everything in between. Same for autistics so I don't like generalising I guess.

Is your family accepting of you?

^ They scare me, but I'm not suggesting they're bad people. I just get anxious because they seem so different.

My beau is NT despite having PTSD. Does PTSD make him ND?

My mother and I have never got on very well. She demeans me for my differences. I was much closer to my dad but he and his whole side of the family have passed away.

I have scores of aunts, uncles, and cousins, but they live in other countries and I don't see them. Most of them realise I'm a pretty odd duck.

I am, actually! I took courses in Dramatic Literature and also Acting, in University. I always did well.

I did some improv once at a training class for work and everyone was amazed. I heard about it for months.

I wish real life came with a script and emotion cues.

I’ve always thought not, far to conscious of the fakery of it in high-school drama classes, but my wife’s told me I’m the only unreadable person she’s met... although that’s not the same thing really.

Do you draw/sketch?

I like to sketch and shade with charcoal.

How bright do you keep your monitor? The highest I ever have mine is Dot 3. I'm very photosensitive.

Yesterday I was on Dot 1 because of a migraine.

With you on that one: down so low everything is a hued grey!
I’ve also been known to wear sunglasses whilst using white backdrop programmes.

Have you ever been told you’re abnormally visually aware?

Define abnormally visually aware?

I do notice and fixate upon tiny details, but I'm so overwhelmed by visual stimuli that I keep lights off and don't look around very much. I'll see the tiny stone beside your shoe but I won't see you.

Yes, I was in Paris on a uni trip with one of the mature students: pointing out all the things I could see that I found interesting: that was what he said after about an hour
He never defined what he meant by it though.

Do you find polyphonic music easier to follow than conversation?

No problem with going to bed but I can't fall asleep without my meds.

How many hours of sleep do you need to function your best?
