I did when I was younger, but I think that was a manifestation of low self-esteem: now I wish I’d made more of it.

Hmmm... when I was younger it was Beardsley and Gaudi, but I’ve got more varied in my inspiration as I’ve aged: more aware of what there is that is there.

Don’t know what my first word was.

Never considered people remembering me.

Do you ever find people are going out of their way to accommodate wishes they assume you have, but actually don’t?

Yes. I have one friend in particular who likes to invite me to outings, restaurants, and small gatherings. I keep explaining that I'm reclusive and don't find any of that appealing whatsoever. She will keep pestering me "Just a coffee? Just a (noisy fun) restaurant? Just a walk in a crowded city?" She thinks I need to get out of the house to enjoy my life, and that she can fix me.

Oh, and how could I forget the ex who sends me roses every Valentine's (and birthday), despite the fact they make me vomit with migraines, and they trigger a PTSD response? He thinks I should appreciate them anyway. He wants photographic proof that I keep them for the week.

Oh dear: I had a friend like that, used to turn up at my house three times a week to make sure I wasn’t lonely.
Well meant but a pain nonetheless.

Ow! That doesn’t sound very considerate at all.

Have you ever gone into a trance like state where it seems the whole world is golden?

Nope....can't say that I had the fortune of this happening to me.

Have you ever had a "vision," in general?

I woke once in the night to golden sparkles all around my bed, almost like fireflies. It wasn't my eyes because if I looked elsewhere in the room they weren't there. I also saw them in the shower once (I shower in the dark). Maybe I'm haunted?

The whole world has never gone golden literally or figuratively.

Have I had a "vision"? I saw a ghost when I was a teenager.

A "vision" for my life plan? No. I don't even know what to have for supper.

Yes several though my therapist said this is due to mental delusions so I don't know if that counts.

Have you ever broken any of your bones?

Yes: I started getting terrifying visions of myself committing acts of violence against people I care about when I was about 13... they crescendoed in intensity and frequency in my mid-twenties and I haven’t had one for three years now.

I think the golden world thing is how my brain processes real, genuine love: it’s only happened with my wife.

Never broken any of my bones: although I have leapt up into door frames so hard it’s a wonder I haven’t cracked my skull several times.

Do you miss people intensely, only to find being with them and their chatter irritating?

My left wrist (age 10)
Left ribs in 2015
My left foot twice in a row, 2017
I had a cracked disk in my spine this past Christmas

I very seldom miss anyone enough to see them in person.

I do, but I only ever miss one person at a time in phases.

The back in particular sounds painful: I’ve jarred my neck and shoulder stimming before, but imagine that must be orders of magnitude worse.

Have you ever damaged/had damaged either of your eyes?

My back was unbearable. I couldn't even move my fingers, adjust myself on the bed, or take a sip of water. It was ungodly pain. When I finally started moving again I sprained my left hip from overcompensating, so had both types of pain. Thank goodness for my osteopath who helped to fix me. (I also met my beau at that appointment, so win-win!)

I had bilateral blepharitis (not fun), and after my stroke I've had diplopia (double vision) and the thing where my eyelid won't stay open. I forget what it's called. They wanted to do eye surgery but I said no.

That’s properly walking wounded from the wars!
Feel I should sympathise more, but I’ve got to prepare dinner now...

Yes, I scratched my cornea on a holly bush: thankfully the nice west African doctor in A&E gave me the right ointments and my vision hasn’t been impaired.

Did you ever try to photograph the moon?

I had strabismus surgery when I was two years old----if that counts.

If you wear glasses, when did you start wearing them?

I used to be scared of the Moon until I was an adolescent.

I'm completely healed, so no sympathy needed for me!

I didn't start wearing reading glasses until 2001.

Now I wear them full time even though they're technically for reading.

I have prism glasses for depth perception (double vision) when I drive.

After my stroke I had big fat nerdy prism glasses all the time.

I started wearing glasses at age 12----in 6th grade.

Same question.

20/20 vision but I wear tinted glasses because of light sensitivity.

Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
