... and Billie Joe Armstrong ... and Louie Armstrong!! ^

Do you have any clothes you'd be embarrassed to wear?

Wear where? Around the house, not. I have clothes that are 20 years old, still fit me and don't have rips in them or anything, so I still wear them, they feel like a second skin

Not currently, although you’ve reminded me of a 22 year old me who bought a pair of red tartan trousers... without trying them on.
They were ridiculously tight, both uncomfortable and mortifying.
Knee high platform rock boots require a lot of co-ordination, which I lack.
There was also a white cowboy hat I never wore.
Also: I lived in cricket trousers all one summer, they were comfy.

Favourite item of clothing?

I used to have sky blue ruffled parachute pants, black leather slacks, and a pair of tight, faded, bell bottom hippy jeans with rhinestones and slits up to the knee. I'm a fashion icon, don't ya know?

My favourite item of clothing is a sage green sundress.

Don't sweat it, I still have some leather trousers from at least 30 years ago that still fit me but don't wear anymore, except for private shows :P

I have a leather jacket that is immortal and I'm very fond of... it was obscenely expensive, but paid off for itself handsomely, you know what they say, poor people can't afford to buy cheap things.

Are these the same that prompted that amazing retort (your outfit sucks - at least my mouth doesn't)?

Yes ^ Those were they! lol

I love my black leather jacket too, but I haven't worn it in about 20 years. Oddly I was just thinking about it today.

What's the first memory that comes to mind when I say "disco" ?

Maybe what I am wearing right now. A very beautifully cut red sweater dress, with black pants and socks.

I have several other red sweaters which I have worn down from using too much so let’s see how long this one looks good.

Donna Summers simply because I recently saw a video of her singing Mansfield Park.

What do you do if you are being gaslighted, scapegoated or mistreated by someone you barely know but in a serious and formal situation?

Cherish them, please!

Horrible, trauma-inducing flashbacks of Swedish boy bands :P

Fight back, no matter what, with all you have (and yes, I'm taking the risks into account), it's the only way that ever worked for me.

Status pending: I’ve bought a thick black woollen naval greatcoat, my aunts going to reline it with scarlet and gold paisley, and replace the original fake brass buttons with fabric covered ones that are all different colours.
So it’s my current favourite, but it doesn’t quite exist yet.

Disco: no

@bender :lol: :lol: :lol:

Gaslighting: if that’s whats afoot step away slowly and carefully, and then run like all hell is behind you. (Metaphorical sentence just there: get out carefully & quickly)

How about footwear?

Disco dancing with my dad on our white shag carpet, while he was preparing supper.

I remember thinking "Disco Inferno" referred to some sort of disaster at a nightclub. I took it literally.

I remember dancing to Disco Duck with my cousins in Philadelphia after we made a "KISS" kite to fly.

Years later, my aunt tried to get me to dance to "Don't You Want Me Baby?" with her. I was really shy and pulled away, so she got upset with me being a spoilsport. I was about 14 by then. She was wearing a grass skirt from Hawaii.

blooie: In all honesty, I'd have a meltdown and then shut down for a long time. I would slowly come out of that and get help from my trauma therapist. Gaslighting and I don't get along well.

My comfiest footwear is my Berkenstocks, although they're ugly.

Do you like oysters?

I have not had them to eat but zi have had mussels which were always good.
Isabella I am much the same. But I
worsen the situation for myself before that in some way. Apparently you cannot say what actually is as it implies that the other person is lying or has bad intent which is impolite. Politeness is a double edged sword in Canada as the bad guys can use that..you’re rude for saying that... as their last resort ...
Speaking of oysters...which leads to the sea which leads to sailors and Popeye the sailor man
Do you like spinach?

I love spinach!

Do you do this sometimes when you're nervous? (It's so me):

Me: Hi, How are you?
Them: Good thanks. How are you?
Me: Hi. Good thanks. How are you? (Duh)

Them: Happy birthday!
Me: You too!

etc. I just parrot niceties in verbal conversation, without thinking.

Never tried them.
I don’t get on with seafood.

@blooie: gaslighting is dangerous, sister-in-law went through four years of it: turned her from a jovial teetotal lay-preacher into a depressed heavy drinking ball of anger and bitterness. Whatever you decide to do, protect yourself & your mind, and take care.

Spinach is great! :D

Yes I do that too... polite phrase, wrong situation

Do you ever realise you’ve just repeated what the other person said, but using different words?
