Lyme is useful for people who want to make key lime pie, but have no real limes and need a substitute. Lymes are artificial versions of limes but the name has been deliberately misspelled for legal reasons.

Are limes really just unripe lemons?

No. Limes are just giant naked kalamansi that hadn't been shrunken through natural fermentation.

If kalamansi is a type of lime limited to warm climates, which is just as limited to cold climates?
