I don't like small spaces, but they have to be very small to bother me. So I have no issues with underground railways or using the subway. Not crazy about the malls though and I need my air to the point I keep a small window open even in winter, so I would have mixed feelings about living in the basement.

I feel a lot of respect for ppl who work at Wal-Mart.. One has to tolerate so much including the awful lights that buzz and the crowds. And the music... Then how many hours their shifts are, and I bet the pay doesn't reflect how much they have to deal with

All that combined would be a nightmare for me, and you know, that stale weird smell you get in there 8O From what I know, their wages are also really low :(

In my youth, I've had plenty of menial or physically exhausting jobs and I'll take them any day over anything involving the "public".

I’m extremely scared of heights: even being within 6 feet of a third floor window sets me off.
I thought I could do them because the first pair of flights was to Amsterdam and I was very much in that alternative state of mind both directions: later sober flying experiences have not been fun at all.

Provided they’re not crowded and I’m not being rushed I don’t really have a problem with underground’s: the racket of the London one is insane though.

I did freak out at the tube station by the British Museum a couple of years ago: the gate wouldn’t let me out and I started panicking and screaming. 8O
Luckily my wife calmed me down quickly before the transport police intervened.

Button cuffs or double cuffs with links?

Sorry, with this kind of things all I can say is be kind to yourself :) I used to love flying but all this getting undressed stuff while jumping through hoops put me off in recent years and airports are a nightmare. I prefer taking the train to Amsterdam, 6 hours is actually kind of pleasant.

I like both with a slight preference for links, I'm glad to hear I'm not the last dude on earth to use them

Silver or gold?

 they’re just so much more comfy than button cuffs!
I bought some by accident from a charity shop and was converted years ago :D

I have a variety of ones with coloured enamel decoration in simple abstract patterns, mostly silver, but a few gold.
I mismatch them.

How were you introduced to double-cuffs?

My wife - it's amazing what civilising influence an educated, stylish woman can have on a man, even a savage like me! (I've told the story here before but we had to attend a very posh wedding and my wife dealt with my hatred for suits by taking me to a friend of hers who makes costumes for the National Theater and he made me a beautiful Victorian suit with frock, trousers, vest, shirt with double cuffs and a high neck, so she got me Victorian cufflinks and a pin to go with that).

How about you?

Accidentally bought some from a charity shop years ago: I just plucked a bunch of shirts from the rail without really looking so I could get out of there as soon as possible, realised when I got home. Then I got stubborn and went out and bought cuff links because I’d bought the shirts so I was keeping the shirts!

Wow! That sounds like a highly enviable outfit!

Plain or coloured scarfs?

Haha, that's the attitude!

Plain, I'm not much for patterns except maybe very subtle ones.

What colours do you like? Do you also wear them?

Pink, black and white.

I love to wear them also (maybe not bright pink)

All the colours!
(Well, not that convinced of yellows in general)

I tend to mismatch and have colours and patterns going on: although blues, greens and purples tend to dominate my wardrobe.
Last outfit worn when I was going out, but not to work in the mud, was: green doc martens over stripy socks (one blue and black stripes, the other orange and black), blue cords, purple shirt with orange pinstripes, striped blue tie with little white teardrops on every fourth stripe, green wool blazer with low density brown & beige tartan pattern, one plain gold cuff link, one silver with a blue chequerboard motif, grey tweed frock-coat and 8-tone striped wooden scarf. :D
And round lens polarised black sunglasses. 8)

That’s rather a long-winded way of saying yes isn’t it?

Just realised I don’t know what your line of work is: would it be rude of me to ask?

Gardener.
(Have a degree in architecture, but don’t have the capacity for the level of human interaction required to do the job itself: I did try, it was...

What do you mean, "thinking"?

At this time of life, I'm just learning the art of staying in the moment, so when I'm feeling good I'm trying really hard not to think!

When I’m writing music: only happened recently that I’ve started to get pieces I’m happy with... the total focus and absorption.
Which I suppose is being in the moment isn’t it?
Hmmm... hadn’t figured that out before.

”but surely you’re always in whatever time you’re in?”

Do you enjoy Banksy’s work/sense of humour?

Yeah, pretty much, it's like a perfect moment when the chattering monkey, or worries or the desire to dissect everything (or whatever plagues your mind) just disappear.

Yes, a lot! I've been to one of his exhibitions and loved the Exit through the Giftshop movie

Are you curious? Is it trivial or more the "wandering at the world" variety?
