I would rather have great practical talent --- for example, I don't want to be famous for playing golf well but I just want to master golf at the highest level so that I can feel satisfied for an interest that I ONLY like --- golf. I don't want sex, love or whatsoever; I just wan golf, golf and only golf! (Reference to Tiger)

I expect the poster above to give an answer to my next question. I have to compliment the vision shown in the previous post because indeed, with money and vision, the Copenhagen (climate change) and poverty issues will be solved. So here comes my question:

Why do you want to solve our environmental and poverty issues, given their alternative: engaging in self-indulgent activities like gambling or sponsoring your friends' dogfighting operations like Mike Vick? (It isn't bad giving money to satisfy ourselves as long as we have the money and assuming that we have no fame yet)

thanks ruennsheng :) ( blush) ... but i am not so sure about my having "great vision" per se, i would be more inclined to say that i am motivated by my deep sense of frustration with the world... and in making that statement i do not think that i am perfect. far from it. hehe

~

so, why would i want to solve issues regarding environment and poverty rather than pursue more personal (or selfish) goals?

i would do it because i don't really count my "wants" being anywhere near as important as the fundamental needs of other humans; good health, food and clean water, peace, clean environment, shelter, safety/security from those not-so-nice, and capacity to help and educate themselves... and animals and plants are in an unfair position, they are the passengers on this ship we steer - isn't it time that someone cuts them a break?

we are all in this together, earth is a closed system, we have no other home.

i will not be here forever, i do not want to be here forever, and i will not have offspring... but others (humans and animals) will have offspring, their offspring are their legacy and this would be for them.

this is not about being remembered or written about, i would rather be scratched from memory... this is about making something happen that needs to happen, and because given this opportunity (for unlimited wealth) i can think of no better things to do.

*edit, i forgot to ask the next question. hehe

^ this then raises the question; would you rather help fix the planet that we have or play a part in colonising (or integrating into) a new world?

A: I would rather fix the planet if there is something we can do to salvage it from further damage. After all, there is only one Earth we live in.

Q: Do you think we can really stop climate change?

Literally stop climate change? unless we can figure out how to control the sun, the changing tilt of the earth, the long-cycling weather patterns, it's not likely.
Can we do more to stop accelerating and/or messing with the natural changes that occur? I hope not, global warming is simply the living planets method of getting rid of an unwanted parasite, humans. We can pollute all we want and it will simply lead more and more to the demise of the homo sapian, after which the planet will very very quickly get itself back on track and in a few short thousand years there will be no trace humans ever existed, and i'm for that.

A: Just one.

Q: If you can change your country of birth, what will it be?

I'm glad to be born where I'm born.
But if I had to change, I think I'd like somewhere in Canada.

What do you like or dislike about your country? Or the country where you live?

My country is Singapore. I dislike the fact that it's a single party state, so there is no system of check and balances on our country's ruling party. But I like the fact that despite all these, I have considerable freedom to do whatever I want as long as it doesn't really harm others.

But to be honest, I wished I were born a New Zealander (Go Nats!) or the United States.

What will be the dream place that you would gladly proclaim as your hometown?

Christmas and summer holidays. I hated school. I couldn't stand my peers.

Did you love school, or hate it.

It was like the curate's egg; good in parts!

If you eat eggs, how do you like them? Scrambled, fried, boiled, poached, hard, soft?

I choose to eat eggs scrambled though, as a kid I found eating them in general made me uncomfortable but, that is another story..

What tends to make you think of something romantic,(not in the erotic sense)?

Language. The idea that words used (or not used) can stir just about any emotion in anyone.

Who in your family do you cling to most?

My mom. My dad somehow talks less to me and I don't get along well with my brother.

Coke or iced tea, which one do you prefer?

I prefer iced tea, it's a must-have for every 100 degree (F) day.

What is your favorite musical instrument?
