I generally believe that "man" is a hybridized intelligence of animal and let's just say something else. The range of intelligence is vast. Is it theoretically possible that there are small teams of people who exhibit a type of intelligence not oft expressed in the general human population and these probably less than 10 people when their brain powers are synergized can develop technology that shatters the prevailing paradigm? Maybe.

Not arguing I just don't really dial in too deeply on this level.

So like a small illuminati ruling a vast population?

He's BACK!! !

Not really an illuminati, more a small team of genius physicists who are so much further advanced intellectually their brainpower leaves the rest of humanity in the dust.

Working the higher education sector I have learned that having "brainpower" (I've known a few geniuses in my time) does not make you compassionate, empathetic, practical, realistic or wise.

The two that stand out (for me) is lack of empathy (geniuses are notoriously self-centred) and wisdom. Once people with brains get a taste of narcissism then you can say goodbye to them.

My point was just that I feel like it could be conceivably possible that some technology we are attributing to aliens could come from a small group of geniuses thinking in ways 4+ sigmas above what is typically found in human intelligence

Yes the "qualities" I was referring to when combined with high intelligence make for a closed circle that keep "knowledge" to themselves. Knowledge is equal to power.

Competitive grants/funding favor the mercenary shockleys over the humanatarian einsteins

A lot of university money comes from industry now and they don't tend to fund philanthropic exercises

We are beholden to the elite. If the system keeps them in power then they will resist changing the status quo.

I saw Mr. Spaceman in my dream last night. He still thinks that it's 1967 and I respect that.

For Mr Spaceman time is a relative thing. For them it could be 1967 AD or 1967 BC

Bullfeathers!

The classic Byrds song came out in 1966. Not 1967! :D

Not to be confused with "Flying Saucer Rocknroll" which came out in 1956.

Or 1970's "Have You Seen the Saucers?"

How do you think that they get "Buffalo wings"?

Its a common American way-of-avoiding-the-S -bomb type expression.

Like "shucks".

Or like in the Spanish speaking world they say "Miercoles" (Mee-air-koh-lace), which means "Wednesday", to avoid the Spanish version of the S word - a word with a strong family resemblance to the English word "manure".
