I was not popular back in my home country of Germany, i am not popular now that i am living in the states.

Popularity as a social construct has never made much sense to me. I don't need to adapt to conventions that someone i am not identifying with established just to be part of something that speaks against everything i am. I might be an actor when i am trying to interact with people, but for me it is more of a defense mechanism rather than the need to be popular.
