Thermometers full of mercury.Now if one breaks in a class room they evacuate everyone.
Metholate,hurt worse than the boo boo they put it on.Everyone had scraped knees and elbows dyed orange.
Bright red hot dogs chock full of dye.
Bozo the clown.
Peanut butter cookies served regularly with school lunch.
Braces that looked like torture devices in the mouth.
Totally unsafe but fun playground equipment.

Ashtrays in restaurants.

Actual butchers in grocery stores.
