I can believe someone just jumped on stage and ruined our lady singing her song at the Eurovision Song Contest.

What a stupid thing to do. Bless her she coped well.

I feel quite sad really because it speaks volumes that we were so close to the bottom of the pile.

Are we that unpopular?

If it is a government thing then I agree with the majority - our current party stinks.

I have no TV so I don't have a TV licence so I am no longer allowed to watch BBCIplayer (which I only did occasionally for things like this) so I have not seen it. I will find clip on youtube.

We've been in the naughty corner of Europe since the Brexit vote Temeraire so I don't think this is really about the government.

But we were unpopular before brexit. Just a little bit more now.

We have never done well for many years - regardless of the song.

I just felt so sorry for the poor woman, she reminds me of Annie Lennox. Quality.

"Knock knock ginger" reminds me of one of my friend's cats. He has one of those cat-flaps with an electronic "key" on his collar that's supposed to stop strays from using the cat-flap. However, he quite often manages to let a couple of other cats in during the short while it takes for the flap to lock itself again. We're not sure if the other cats have wised up and learned to bully their way in, or whether it's his clever way of inviting his mates round for tea.

We don't need TV "licenses" in the US.

But we have to pay much more for cable.

As far as I know we are the only ones who do have licenses. I don't have a problem with the BBC (who get the money) except that they assume if you don't have a license you are breaking the law. They are convinced that there are no people who don't have tellys.

Phew, that is too true! I haven't had a TV for at least a couple of decades now, and they just never leave me alone. Even once you have finally convinced them that you really don't watch TV, you can bet that the threatening letters will begin again after a year or two - and, of course, now that you can access programmes on-line, they accuse you of doing that as well (which I never do, either). The tone of their letters is shocking; they come across like it's a mafia protection racket; even the envelopes are stamped with threats of legal action.
