In written form ... I'm better but still not the best. I'm kind of clueless about when it's needed, if I'm not told.

Other times I apologise for things that aren't even my fault.

Do you have sensory meltdowns?

I have ones solely caused by sensory issues less often now, but dealing with sensory issues can still "set me off" if I'm already upset.

Yes, pretty much any time I leave the house and have to deal with people.
Misophonia is a really common trigger for me. Also photophobia can cause me to freak out.

Do you make verbal noises during meltdowns or go silent?

I make some noises, and I used to scream/cry when I was a kid. I do go silent when I have shutdowns since I kind of can't talk or make noise then.

Do you ever get injured during your meltdowns?

No as i just cry uncontrollably

Did you use to climb trees as a kid?

I tried to climb them. I didn't usually succeed.

I self-injure sometimes but it's more voluntary than not.

Yes, I climbed everything I could. I liked to find hiding places up high or ground level. My favourite was my grandmother's oak tree. Actually, I liked a nook in her cellar as well.

Were you excited to visit relatives when you were young?

I was excited to see relatives, though I didn't see them that often.

What was the most annoying toy that you or your kids had?

LOL - MD had a talking doll with batteries in the back. One night we were at my mother's trying to sleep and we couldn't get the thing to shut up. We needed a tiny screwdriver to pull the batteries out. For whatever reason I couldn't find the right screwdriver and it was driving us mad. I wanted to throw it out the window but MD said no, so I ended up wrapping it in a towel in my mother's microwave just to muffle the sound. Funny but we just talked about that yesterday.

My own frustrating toy was that game called Mousetrap which was always falling apart.
