If it wasn't technically a crime to drink a beer in damn near all the parks in the Denver, Colorado area, the public would be happier...this should also extend to cannabis now that it is legal. But seriously you're allowed to go bar hopping, like get buzzed somewhat visablly, then go to another bar and walk around tipsy just not to the point you're obstructing traffic or causing a disturbance by being wasted. I don't really see the point why keep going to different ones but people do it all the time and pretty sure its not a crime.
Yet its illegal if I where to go sit in park under a tree and drink a beer, and smoke a bowl and peacefully sit there maybe listening to music on my phone....WTF. I mean I could see rules like no cannabis/alchol use near or around playgrounds, maybe have some parks where it is allowed and some where it is not, and obviously that it needs to be done responsibly. But can humans handle all that responsibility...or are people getting that dependent on the government to tell them what to do in all aspects of life. Either way sitting at home is boring, bars are expensive if you're in a city parks are really the only outside places you can go to get fresh air(if you can call it that) so people do drink and smoke at the park anyways...and people who are stupid about it get arrested much of the time rightfully so though from some things my brothers told me he's seen. But yeah I've seen pretty much every sort of person either smoking a bowl, joint or drinking a beer, flask or small bottle of whiskey or whatever one one occasion or another even business people...but not disrupting anything and doing it away from playgrounds or other areas kids are around.
It's annoying and sometimes gross when people don't freaking clean up after themselves though, but then some people who eat fast food in the park don't clean up after themselves, some people who bring picnics carelessly toss the garbage to blow in the wind...so its not a matter of people who want to indulge in a beer/joint/bowl at the park(they are both legal) that's the main culprit its careless people or people who disregard/don't give a damn about their environment they depend on to live regardless of where the garbage they leave around comes from.
