i can't believe it took me that long to figure out how kneaded erasers supposedly cleaned themselves. it was so bloody obvious, it's like those kids who stuff all their junk into their closet and claim they 'cleaned" their room.

I'm hungry....want dinner.

Should I keep a whole bunch of old poetry I wrote and correspondence between me and other people? I kind of feel like I should just throw it out without even looking at it. If I look at it, it seems extremely likely that I will feel upset afterwards. In fact, I feel certain that I will feel upset. Thinking it out in words like this, it now seems obvious that I have had no practical reason to lug all this around for 20 years. I do occasionally think of things which I have thrown out in the past, which I came to regret throwing out. However, that does not mean that I would have enjoyed them had I kept them. On average, it seems more likely that I would never have even looked at them. So, having them would give me no pleasure, but not having them will cause me a little regret. I do not wish to be ruled by a fear of irrational regret.

^ I know that dilemma. I think you reached the right conclusion. I'd get rid of it if there's no practical use for it. You might feel sad but I'm sure it'll also give you a feeling of moving forward. Getting rid of old stuff finally often gives me that feeling of satisfaction.

It's taken me a couple of days to adjust but I think having time off work is doing me good.

sorry to spoil it but if ghoti were a word, it would be pronounced...goaty, or goatee with a softer 't'.

linguists say "gh" can't be pronounced /f/ at the beginning of a syllable, the letters "ti" can't be pronounced /ʃ/ at the end of a syllable.

there's a member of this site named 'ghoti'. i wonder if there's one named "ghoughpteighbteau"??
