One of my friends sent me gummy candy once and that's probably the best gift I've gotten so far... Otherwise I always like and appreciate "practical" gifts.

Same question.

Nothing major. Maybe of these choices?

- A professionally-researched family tree with documents and life stories of each person.

- Never-before-seen photos and video from my life age 0-5 at the house my dad built.

- The fair copy of Wuthering Heights, and the lost manuscript of EB's second novel.

Are you good at taking care of people when they're sick?

I am okay at taking care of sick people. Sometimes my constant researching of random topics, including medical/health related ones, benefits me in that regard. lol

Do you enjoy taking care of people?

Probably more in a supportive, rather than practical way.

I’d have to learn how to help people out of bed or give them baths, as examples.

Same question.

I do enjoy taking care of people—as long as they don’t get bitchy.

I like doing the physical work - cleaning up if they've been sick, changing the bedding, fetching things etc.

The emotional aspect of it is hard for me though. I'm not very expressive about my feelings.

Do you think you'd be a better doctor or veterinarian?

Doctor. I have a generalized fear of animals—though I love them.

Same question.

Doctor. I'd get too emotionally invested in the animals, and not be able to deal.

Plus animals get worms.

Have you seen The Big Chill?

I'd probably be a better veterinarian, unless I was a pediatrician. I don't have the proper "people skills" to be a doctor for adult humans...

I also haven't seen that before, what's that?

Same question.

I would have be too socially awkward to be a Dr. I would be less bad at being a veterinarian.

No Big Chill

Hate taking "care" of "people", (sick or otherwise). Preschool, geriatric. Used to work at K-2 special education, teaching assistant.
hated it. Alzheimer's Respite . My old man got colon cancer and he started ordering me around. Even in the middle of the night.
old man dead now. Makes me feel like a slave. The dictionary defines "care" as "to attend to". It doesn't specify:. Intention, outcome, morality, legality. "Care" could be good, bad, both, or neither.

What kind of disciplinary sanctions have you had at work? What were they for?

Yes, I actually have; though, shall not say much about it at this juncture.

Do you feel your difficulties get better managed as you get older or worsen?

Ironically, I am getting better but presenting worse. I used to manage better, but now I am becoming more authentic - masking less etc. Hope that made sense.

What are the three books that have influenced you the most?

A Theory of Justice, John Rawls (Philosophy)
To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee (Fiction)
Emily Brontë: Heretic, Stevie Davies (Biography)

I'm going to add The Bell Jar (Sylvia Plath) to my list.

Have you ever seen a shark in the sea?
