I awoke last night, was laying there gradually becoming more alert and then I must have had an auditory hallucination as I heard, with perfect clarity, the voice of a young girl say "No don't touch me." (no dirty jokes now) coming from around the end of my bed. No need to mention I was scared witless and froze, then just pulled my covers up over my head. It really sounded like someone was in my room saying that. Freaky stuff.

I get that now and again. I think it is common when you are dreaming. I often wake up with a start convinced I've heard the door bell or telephone but neither of them have been activated. I have even heard my cat meow from the foot of my bed when he's been asleep outside on top of the shed all along. Our brains play tricks on us more than we think.

True, it was a cool trick. It's weirder than usual for me though as I'd been fully awake for a good couple of minutes. Usually when things like that happen it's as I awake, and a lot less convincing.

I haven't had one of those hallucinations in a long time, they are extremely scary but once it's over I find it pretty fascinating. I like the brain.
