I think immigrants should be given background checks and should have a skill which will contribute something to the society they are trying to join.

That is how it used to be, and I think that system mostly worked. Better than the current one does, which is "everyone come on in." It's like inviting 20 more people in a leaky rowboat. Doesn't work.

It is nothing against any one group in specific.
