That's ironic! I just discovered the name Alara the other day. It's Australian or Turkish in origin. I prefer E names so I like your version better
I love a few names but none of them worked with our surname. I also have synesthaesia so the colour of the name / initials mattered to me. It was really, really hard to name my daughter or to get my ex to agree on what I liked. Ironically I decided on her name and had my "Aha!" moment, based on a TV character. But, her name also has other namesakes in history that really worked for me. Thank goodness her dad agreed.
