I got called elegant by a vistor at work today.

Colleagues were staring due to said comment (probably because everybody is now familiar with me swearing in 5 different languages in the morning for the first 15 minutes because of how damn freaking cold it is, usually until I make my first coffee).

Naturally, I proceeded to bump into the filing cabinet straight after this comment, thus proving how clusmy I am and ruining any illusion of elegance.

[sarcasm] Go me!... [/sarcasm]

Hhmmm...by this thread it looks like lots of things make me unhappy, they don't, it just gives me somewhere to whinge :P

Today's 'thing that made me unhappy' - the metro tone.

The metro system has some new carriages that are more disabled-friendly...one feature is a tone when the door closes which is twice as loud as on other carriages and makes a god awful 'BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!! !! !!'. I'm told to NT's this noise is unpleasant, although my sensitivity to sound is quite mild (certainly compared to many others on the spectrum) this noise makes me feel like I'm being cut by a thousand razor blades.

My sister, who just published a book, is a cheapskate. She's over at our house trying to force us to buy a copy of her book. She refuses to give us a copy for free even though we're her family. When I offered to give her the $7 I had lying around on my computer desk, she said, "Oh no, it's $20." I asked if she could lower the price because we're family, and she said "no". She never ceases to amaze me at how big of a self-important b***h she can be.

Well, Here we have what we call "Waratah's".

They announce "Doors Closing, Please stand clear" both inside and outside through Internal and External speakers.

They are never in sync. Always 3-5 seconds out.

I got the wrong book for my essay for English! The two books (one I accidentally got, and one I'm supposed to get) has the same title, and the author's first names are the same!

This is all I can say at the moment. I'm faced with permanent exile.

It's still hot here and it was so hot in my bedroom tonight I had to get up and out of there by midnight.

We got a new air conditioner on Saturday with higher btu but it's still not in yet because we can't do it ourselves so I'm still suffering.

found out my sister is more right wing than i thought. she didnt even support the teachers striking last wednesday because she thinks that if teachers chose that profession then it was just tough luck that their conditions and pay were crap and they had to accept it because they knew what it was like going in. i feel sorry for her teachers. imagine having a student that views you as something akin to a robot whose only purpose was to educate you and didnt think you were worth proper maintenance.

I let a neighbor borrow my AK-47. He returned it without the magazine and jammed. Guess I'll be fixing it today...

My brother and sister are apparently not well, and so they'll be off school tomorrow, meaning no Quiet Thursday for me when I get home. :(

I'm hypersensitive to heat and we have an extreme heat alert, it's 41c with the heat index.
