there was an ad on the TV today which was for funeral insurance.

one of the things they offered as an extra was a "free will" kit, and i still cannot understand after seeing the ad many times today why i would need to be taught about "free will". how many people purchased that insurance package in order to simply obtain the ability to excercize "free will" ?. the world is insane.

Same here.
what i said was supposed to be a joke. i was not able to think of an adequate verbal framework to convey the joke with an economy of words (the best jokes apparently have the fewest words possible to convey their meaning)

the meaning of the joke was this:

when a hurricane arrives, the wind will blow in one direction (in the northern hemisphere the will blow from the south, and in the southern hemisphere the wind will blow from the north (considering that hurricanes and cyclones tend to move in a westerly direction (in both hemispheres (curiously)))).

anyway, when they tell you how to prepare for a the "arrival" of a hurricane, they are telling you how to prepare for the wind blowing in a particular direction.

when the hurricane is departing, the winds will blow in the opposite direction, and
the joke hinges on the absurdly literal supposition that the advice of how to prepare for the arrival of a hurricane would be opposite to the advice for how to prepare for the departure of the hurricane when the winds are blowing in the opposite direction.

i realized after i posted that post that it could be interpreted as "they always give you advice on how to prepare for a hurricane, but they never give advice on how to survive the aftermath", but that was not what i was meaning.
