I really love a lot of 1960s/70s/early 80s pop music, a term which I'd interpret in a wider sense than just chart singles. Lost interest from mid 80s onwards. I don't have any problems with the term 'pop' in this context. My old headmaster at school in the 70s loathed pop music, and pronounced the word in an unintentionally funny way.

Did you ever watch the BBC UK series Top Of The Pops ?

My parents watched it in 80's. My mom especially.
And Im sure my grandparents watched in 60's. On their black & white tv's.

Some guy named Jimmy ...He hosted it, back then? didn't he .lol

Favourite ? terrestrial tv channel, growing up.

UK
BBC
ITV
CH4
CH5

USA

BBC 1, for Top Of The Pops and Match Of The Day. Can't watch the BBC or any TV at all these days, as I've not renewed my licence since 2019.

I liked the early years of Channel 4 for Brookside, but I was at least theoretically 'grown up' by then.

Same question.

CBS tended to have edgier material compared to the comparatively staid offerings from the other networks, with the exception of PBS which was somewhat closer to the liberality of the Beeb.

choose one-

beeb
or
NHK

I liked CH4 alot, lot edgier than most everything else. BBC, watched alot. Then ITV. CH5 was always pretty trash.

I think thats a Japanese channel? right..?
I know alot of international channels...
Naturally BBC.
I'm not into subtitles, Animie, godzilla, Ultraman, dragonball z, etc etc all those weird Japanese shows.

Though I do like Tekeshi's Castle. :)
With Craig Charles doing commentary. I could watch that all day  (think i nearly did as a teen.)
UK sky viewers know what I'm talking abut...I Challenge anybody not to like that show.

Watch a show produced by:
PBS
or
HBO

PBS. HBO has brilliant stuff like Deadwood, but most of it is just crap that looks nice.

Same question.

IDK...really..

HBO. If i want to be entertained. Always had the edgiest shows.

Sopranos, is a alltime favorite of mine. That was the fist HBO show i saw. 1999/2000. They broadcasted it on CH4.

PBS. If want be educated. Learn about real things. Documentaries. Kinda dry and boring though...at times. Yeah it is close to BBC, in production style. Very classy.

PBS as one doesn't have to have a middle-class income to watch it.

PBS is not cable/satelite then, right?
I guess Public , means Publicly available.
I didn't get Sky (satellite) TV till about 1999.

New question.

Playboy TV
or
Generic smut channel
LOL

PBS stands for Public Broadcasting System. no commercials like on commercial tv, but "sponsorship spiels" aplenty.

generic no-holds-barred smut channel.

Watch tv
or
read a book
or
go outside
or
go online
or

Well, you could always watch, and read stuff, outside, on mobile connection, ya know in sunshine. While doing something else. Maybe even with other people...

Yeah, something else.

Do you know any alcoholics?
