It's a cringe moment for me to refer to myself in the third person. At two, I sang happy birthday to me and grinned. Then I lost my language or speaking skills.

I'll try it again.

Imagine your self in thought, where does this thought originate for you or come to you, specifically your big toe...no, your wood...no, although we've been accused of it. My thoughts come to me basically between the eyes, it's me looking out behind my face and seeing the world. Try it, look at your hands. If this is the same for you, are "you" the same as your face when you look in the mirror?

My thoughts are intangible things. Electric signals.
They originate from my brain.
Conscious field of awareness, my five senses, is blended together.
I identify my consciousness as primarily the visual field of awareness.
And the thoughts, well if they have a location, its in my skull.
Center of my brain.
(Where everything converges.)
yeah behind the eyes, somewhere around there.
:nerdy:
My analytical answer.

Yes I am me, when I look in the mirror, who else would i be?

same q (where does thought originate for you?)

No, it's not me when I look into the mirror, the face is not my "conscious self." I think it's the reason why I hate eye contact.

It's still happening, so I have no answer to this question.

How easy can it be for you to avoid people who think you are not on the spectrum?

I think I've learned the lesson and will not disclose anymore. I can turn off the empathy and not give a flip what they think. I will still have to deal with the stress but can work to minimize it as much as possible. Meditation seems to be improving my disposition. I can have social intercourse without knowing their names to get a human connection.

To answer the question, not until Mom passes away, so not very easy for me.

I think just about everyone who's 'known' me for any length of time must have realized that I'm on the spectrum, even if they don't formulate it in those terms. They must be pretty dense if they haven't clocked it. The question of my avoiding people or otherwise is more or less irrelevant these days, as I don't bother with social contacts at all, even with family members.

Do you keep up with national and international news stories?

Not very well. I tried getting the AP Morning Wire for a year, but I felt like the coverage focused on things I didn't care about and left me ignorant of things I did care about, while having more of a bias than I wanted. My main source of news is sadly whatever my friends share on Facebook. I'd like to find something better, something quick and simple. I have no interest in sensationalism or politics. One of my favorite news sources, but not one I often check, is the "World" (Mundo) section of La Razón, a Spanish-language digital newspaper from Bolivia. I haven't found anything better than that for important international news; several times that's where I first learned of major events here in the USA, too. I should start checking that more often!

Same question.

Sometimes, I'll flood myself with national information until overloaded. I have to be careful with my sources as I sometimes will become too engrossed down a rabbit hole. International news will just be a cursory peek.

Funny thing is I miss the ritual of reading newspapers, especially the Sunday edition.

I used to be a lot more into news and current affairs, but I've recently stopped watching TV and my interest in such things generally is waning. I read the online versions of one or two UK newspapers on a daily basis, but my attention is increasingly drawn to the public comments sections rather than the stories themselves. I can't stand politicians anymore, and don't want to hear them being interviewed.

What's the minimum monthly income you'd be prepared to live on?

An equivalent to 100 USD a month.

Same question.

I lived reasonably happily on around £500 per month (around $675 in US currency) until a few years ago. With the increase in living costs, I'd need closer to £800 these days. I actually have income of about £1100 per month, so that's a fairly comfortable situation, but it could all change quite dramatically if inflation takes off in the next two or three years.

Would you like to live in a drier climate?

Montana and Wyoming are the driest for my preference. Wouldn't mind it for the warm months, winters are pretty brutal tho.

in the current situation, it would not be too inconvenient for me to survive on federal poverty line.

do not wanna live in a drier climate. last year, shoes wet from the rain two days in a row. for eight weeks after that, paws intermittently cold and numb. paranoid of frostbite or amputation. furthermore, as a Lot Attendant, i work outside. when it rains, i still have to push carts. but it doesn't rain that often compared to other locations. besides, living in a drier climate would trigger eczema.

sometimes i read Yahoo news, but do not keep up with the news per se.

at work, there are plenty of precious lil "people". i work in a hardware store. it is hard to imagine that anyone that works in that building knows anything significant about autism. plenty of precious lil "people" work in the building. thus, while working, it is hard to avoid everyone at all times. however, since i am Lot Attendant, i do not have to interact with them that much (unlike Cashier).

never had a relationship. 38 right now. not looking for a relationship. given up. cost benefit analysis. risk versus reward.

a couple times, a couple years ago, shortfatbaldugly man referred to himself in the third person.

I would definitely like to live in a drier environment. North-West England is a pretty damp and miserable place climate-wise for most of the year.

Biggest character flaw? Being oblivious to the needs or even the existence of other people at times, maybe.

How would you rate your cooking skills?
