Just $295 more to go till I can get mah .44 Cal "Long Rifle", O, plus the $30 government weapon's tax (bastards).

This blackpowder, primitive firearm shooting, ain't like the new fangled breach loading cartridge based stuff; lucky ma got me a rather large [and red] Stanley toolbox not long ago -- I can put all mah stuff in it.

I was kinda dreading the cleaning after you shoot it, but it appears easy now; hot water and soap down the barrel (funnel looks like a good idea), scrub it till you get all the residue out, then dry and oil like any other firearm.

Seems to be a 200 - 300 meter rifle depending on the shooter (which may seem short by modern standards, but have a look at a torso-sized target at 300 meters through open sights and you'll see the truth there). The range has a 300 meter one, so I'll try that out against a modern ".44" (.44 Magnum Rifle).

I just got my brother started on men's rights and how they relate to feminism and... oh boy.
He makes many legitimate points, but they're in amongst a lot of "feminists aren't doing enough about men's rights!" and "some of them are insane hypocrites, therefore the entire movement is bad!".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole feminist thingy was so that women had equal rights and the same freedoms as men? The removal of the gender bias and disparity of earlier times, right?

I can't see why anyone would be up in arms over that (unless you were/are a sexist jerk).

What are these "men's rights"? As far as I'm aware, we're all treated roughly the same nowadays as the rule of law goes (where we live anyway).

Yes, it was, but there are so-called feminist organisations out there who are blatantly misandrist (and there are men's rights organisations who are blatantly misogynist). He's partly up against those, partly up against the things I mentioned in my previous post.
The issues he mentioned are things like domestic violence and rape against men and the downplaying of such, and the inequality that exists in custody arrangements.
Legally, where we live, we're all treated roughly the same, but out in society there's still a lot of inequality and discrimination going on.

i'm thinking of making pasta in the next few days. i have a tin of tomato tuna, sage and basil and a little majoram in the yard, tomato sauce, and spices/herbs like lemon pepper, cumin, pepper, cinnamon, salt, rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil and things. i don't know which combination of spices would work best and the ingredient list is a little thin but i'm trying to stretch my food. i also have chickpeas. i don't know if this'll work out.

That's on at my local (well within walking distance) one-screen, Über-traditional fleapit this week.

Here's the cinema exterior:

Films I'm seeing next week (none of them at the above cinema though): Chasing Ice; Lancashire On Film and In the Mood for Love.
