Right now, that gruesome image of a high-school teenager who was hit and killed by the bus outside my apartment.
It's the first time I've ever seen a dead human body, although he was covered up by a sheet and it was several feet away, there was blood. I think if I had been nearby when it happened I'd be really messed up right now.

Will I go for a riverside or forest walk? Will i need to hose down the dogs afterwards if we go to the forest?

Now I'm not beating myself up about every little thing anymore, my mind seems to be at a loose end.

Is my baby taking a dump is on my mind everytime I hear a noise from her pram. Shes been brewing one up for a while and my partner is asleep so I'll have to deal with it.

It's a tale as old as time. That person who, whether immediately or eventually, finds out that they are the odd dock in the pond. In that pond and in every pond they go to. That's how I am. I'll cling to individuals or groups but I'm not really like any of them. The more I know them the clearer it becomes.

Even people as different as me, perhaps more different if such a thing is possible, aren't different in the way I am. It's a bit like being an alien in a world full of humans. Then you meet other aliens and find out they're just as different from you as the humans. In fact, you can't help think they fit in better than you. As if, in comparison, you're the only true alien.

The frustration and despondency of it is beyond the grasp of most people. Not her though, no, she understood it. That's why I wanted to be her friend. She was, in essence, who I will become. Which is why she didn't have friends. It's why she wouldn't become my friend.

I hope she's doing well. I hope she's happy. I hope she remembers my stupid attempts at kindness. I really meant each one. I hope we both beat this life. If only from the perspective of surviving it. Though, I'd rather we thrived. Yes, that's what I really want.

A cliff walk, or a beach walk? Coffee or Cacao for my flask? Do I want the smell of wet dog in the car for the drive back? More great options to have
