Can't remember who the former was, maybe one of the baddies? So W Smith, probably...

Do you think Orwell merits a place in the 'Premier League' of 20th Century novelists (many critics would deny that this is the case)?

I don't know enough about the subject to give any sort of authoritative opinion, but I'd rather read his stuff than many of the supposed 'heavyweights' (James Joyce, Saul Bellow, DH Lawrence, etc).

How many novels have you read in the last 5 years?

50 or so from the Guttenberg library, mostly written in old French.

None! My ability to read a book has been neutered by my internet addiction. Reading magazine articles is the most I can manage nowadays. :(

Do you subscribe to any print magazines? If so, which ones?

I used to subscribe to The Idler. It was great, but it was quite expensive and so I ended the sub. Would recommend though.

Same qn.

Yes. Comes with blue ray disks. No one here would know of it.

Do you like Castello cheese?

I used to buy the NME and any music magazine when my favourite bands were on the cover. I have a GQ and i-D magazine subscription now.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert or the Antarctica, and why?

Stranded on a desert, better to die warm than perished.

What age do you expect to live to?

Possibly 70-75 ish. Not sure I'd want to go on much beyond that, after seeing some of my relatives at 75+.

Have you ever believed in reincarnation?

No, but it’s an interesting concept.

It would be nice :)

Especially if I come back as a country gentleman :)

Do you prefer urban, suburban, or rural locales?

Urban, though I prefer it when there aren't so many people around. Manchester city centre can be a nightmare, with all the dreadful buskers and their amplified music, beggars, salespeople trying to sign you up for this or that, and just so much of the modern world on display (showing my age... )

Could you stand living in a commune?
