Pain of course is relative to the person feeling it, but I'll have to go with the other moms on this one. Childbirth was the absolute worst pain (and I get migraines and have rheumatoid arthritis). I had my children in a little hippy-dippy hospital in Northern California, and they refused to give me anything for the pain. So I had both my girls au natural. Nine and a half pounds of pure hell the first time, although I didn't make a peep the entire time (most aspies tend to be quieter about pain than NTs, I think). The second pregnancy scared me to death because I already knew what was coming. It was worse than the first time. I got my tubes tied after that. :)

Are Aspies less vocal about pain? I know I just sat there and cried during labor. I don't cry about much, but labor made me cry. Especially since I experienced back labor. The nurses all thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't scream through back labor. :-\

Then again, I didn't really feel a lot of my contractions. lol

I had two finger tips, ring and pinky, crushed between two pieces of metal. It happened about three quarters of the way down my fingernail and severed all but a small bit of skin on the pad. When the doctor fixed it he scraped the bone with a curette. All he had to do to get to the bone was lift up and flip the top of my finger back like a lighter top.

Last year I had sciatica and was bedridden for about three months, Getting up out of bed to go to the bathroom was an ordeal, and even Vicodin didn't do much to relieve it. Shortly after that I had an abscessed tooth and it was the weekend so I had to wait until Monday, then Tuesday because the dentist was on vacation, and that toothache was pretty intense.

When I was a kid I ran into a plate glass window with my knee and I still have a big scar from it.

But for me all of those are far less painful than being stuck with a needle, which, odd as it may sound, is the worst pain I've ever experienced, especially for a blood test, when they stick a needle in the crook of your arm, which is one of the most sensitive spots on your body.

This is difficult to speak of but, I suppose the most painful experience(s) I've faced would be the loss of various members in my family which has had profound effects on my life over the last 23yrs now.Still, I don't want anyone to feel as if I have more demons than Linda Blair in The Exorcist of a psychological nature mind you.. Everyday, I'm trying to deal with things that have went on throughout my life with all that I can put forth in a honest, truthful manner.
I really don't know what to say beyond this for, I feel that I'll get around to saying more of this perhaps on a more profound level just, not sure how to display such wthout making others feel hurt..

When I had to have a D&C. It hurt worse than constipation and worse than period cramps. Pretty soon I'd be dealing with worse pain than that but it won't be till the end of December

The time I had Chicken Pox when I was 11 years old. My entire body was covered in the rash, even my insides like my throat and privates. That was the single worst week of my life. I just laid on the couch and cried a lot. One day my mom tried to give me a warm bath, but my rash started stinging like someone was poking me with hundreds of hot needles. It made me scream. I was too afraid to take a bath for about a week after that.

More recently, I had a gaping cavity in one tooth that drove me crazy. The pain was constant and, at one point it got so bad that I wanted to scream. It even made the entire side of my face and my head hurt. I went to the dentist and he started a root canal on it. He's finishing it either this Thursday or the next (I forgot which).

You know, I forgot about this until now but when I was 8 years old I was in the back yard laying on our trampoline. One of my brothers was playing with a hockey puck. I real one... not plastic... and it accidentally flew out of his hands. It hit my on the right side of my jaw. It may have broken something, but my mom never took me to intensive care. I couldn't open my mouth very far for a month. To this day, I still sometimes get a dull ache where I was hit.

Plus... my jaw is crooked.

Scratching the retinas of both eyes after I wore my old fashioned hard contact lenses too long, back in the days before soft lenses were common. I could not sleep, and could not even open my eyes.

I have yet to try contacts. The thought of something on my eye freaks me out.

The worst pain I experienced was when I had esophagus spasms or something like that. I'm not sure.
