My avatar is me wearing a flak vest and balaclava. I find it comforting to wear the vest, while the balaclava is for concealing my face (duh!) because I do not wish to be identified by my employer as being "on the Spectrum" or by anyone with ill intentions.

I want to look like this when I'm oplder, hopefully in a year's time. And I decided to imagine myself having hair that colour, when I was about 13, and made up a character out if it. And then I forgot about it until about 2 years later. And then I drew many pictures of her, and did one in Paint, and decided to use it as my avatar so people could imagine me as a purple-haired girl, which is what I'll hopefully be one day.

The whole picture is a portrait of me and one of my best friends (you may be able to see part of her hair), she made that drawing for my birthday. Makes for a suitable avatar, showing me without resorting to an actual photograph. And I really like that drawing.

My avatar is The Evolution of Lego Man. Not only do I love Legos and Darwin but I remember how much I liked this the first time I saw it. It was my screen saver for a really long time.

My avatar changes depending on my mood, but they're all pictures of the Mad Hatter as portrayed by Johnny Depp in the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland.

I first used this avatar theme back in 2010 when I first saw the movie and became totally obsessed with it. My avatar has changed to countless different things between then and now, but I ultimately decided to go back to my Mad Hatter theme because:

1) the Mad Hatter still tops my list of favorite fictional characters 2 year later, even if I'm not as obsessed with the movie as I used to be
2) the Mad Hatter is the fictional character who best represents my personality
3) other people really seem to enjoy my Mad Hatter avatars.

I change my avatar to show a special interest at the time. At the moment, I have been watching a hell of a lot more of the doctor and sharing my special interest with my son.

Hey and who doesn't dance with a mop while wearing a bowtie and fez? I know that I do daily.

My avatar is a picture of Johnny Castaway from the Castaway screensaver. I used to watch it with my friends when I was a kid when we had nothing better to do. I chose it because it's my favourite screen saver and I still have it on my computer.

Playing around with the settings on my cell phone camera. It's a prepaid Tracfone I bought at Walmart. I actually liked the way this one came out, the glowing and the blue background. I thought it was pretty good for such a cheap phone.

The gesture itself is based on Spock from Star Trek, "Live long and prosper." Though some people here have asked why my avatar is of me making shadow puppets.
