I came across mine late last year on the halloween.com forums, in the costume discussion forum. Some woman said her daughter was going as a cheerless leader (which I assume is a living dead cheerleader  ) I just though it suited me.
p.s. as of Janurary this year I'm a member on the halloween.com forums, under the name of ooga_booga. I then read the meaning of ooga-booga on urbandictionary, I wish I picked a better name

In sports, my number was always #11. Trigger is not the horse or from any affection for guns or violence. I actually am opposed to both. I got the nickname in college when I was playing basketball. I was a three-point specialist and was known for bringing the ball up the court on 3-on-1 fast breaks and draining 25+ foot three-pointers instead of dishing to my wingmen. They called me "Trigger", becasue I was always looking to drain a long three and it stuck.

Because I took the question literally (as usual). This is the earliest polite nickname I recall being given. (One of only two al-told, the others not being polite). It also recognises my A S ness, having learned that I've had it from birth and that it is life-long.

My name, contrary to popular belief has nothing to do with the movie "The Matrix" and predates the movie by at least a decade.

I've used the name ever since I went online on BBS and later the internet, which was when I was about 12 years old.

The name comes from dot Matrix printers and I used it because the first BBS I was on, I made some friends (some of the most active members on the BBS) that had the following nicknames:

Laserbase
BubbleBobble
ThePlot
WaxMan
and TheTreasurer

In all of them I saw a commonality.
Laserbase = Laser printers
BubbleBobble = the then upcomming new technology of bubble jet (later called deskjet) printers
ThePlot = Dude was a conspiracy theory freak, but the name related to the same subject as the other names for me, plotters
Waxman = another printing technology type that was used for high quality printing, with colored wax as the printing agent
TheTreasurer = the one that prints the money in most countries.

The only printer I didn't see related to by a name was the dot matrix, then probably the most used printer around (I personally owned 2, an 8 dot and a 24 dot printer)

So my name became TheMaTrIx.

I guess that proves that my "weird" relational thinking really has been with me from the very start. Imho its an asset, but when you explain how you got to something like that with your way of thinking, people tend to go "Ehm?"

I saw someone else use it before and I thought it was funny so I began using it.

Big- I am 6"2', which is big, right? (And my family and my family's friends won't stop saying 'oh my goodness, have you got taller?')
T- for Thomas, my first name.

I was going to just use 'Tom' as my name here, but somebody already took it.

My username inspired me to draw up my avatar, which you will find on the left. I don't think I'll ever change it. :D

I was listening to the song "Rain Bird" by Love & Rockets (for like the 20th time in a row) when I signed up. I wanted my name here to be different than the names I use everywhere else online, just in case someone I know was to google one of my screen names.
