I find it amusing, if not tragic (if I'm blunt: pathetic), that anyone can believe in anything like that, whether they call it psychic, gods, crystal energy, UFOs, mermaids and other cryptids, astrology, healing, telepathy, or any other of the near countless categories of nonsense.

No offense taken.

Psychic: Any well-trained scammer can put on a convincing act.

Gods: Mostly personifications of the forces of nature and natural events.

Crystal Energy: Certain types of crystals have long been used as frequency standards for radios and computers.

UFOs: Unidentified Flying Objects -- only this, and nothing more.

Mermaids: Horny, scurvy-inflicted, lonely sailors hallucinating.

Astrology: Long-discarded precursor to the real science of Astronomy.

Healing: Some people get well all on their own.

Telepathy: See 'Psychic' above.

For the record, I do believe in the personification of the Creative force that brought forth the universe. Pathetic? Okay ... just don't ask me to prove the validity of my beliefs, as I know it cannot be done.

(At least I will admit it.)

I believe that there are people who have psychic abilities. I have done readings with a psychic over the phone in my area and she is real. She has been on-point with everything she has said to me. My sister had a reading with her and she was spot on with her as well. For example, when I had my first reading with her she was picking up my grandfather. She said that she saw a woman standing next to him and then had asked me if I had lost an aunt recently. At the time, my great aunt had passed away a couple months prior to that and she was my grandfather's sister. There is no way that this she could have known that I had just lost an aunt a couple months prior. I'm sure there are people out there who claim to be psychic and are frauds, but I do believe that there are psychics who are the real deal.

I believe in psychics, though I'll admit that there are very few supernatural things I don't believe in.

Out of curiosity (I've never been to one): there seems to be a lot of informing people about their dead relatives and some other things that either you already knew or are not particularly useful; did they ever tell you something useful too? :?

I do.

I'm one of them.

Three weeks ago I had this....eerie....strange....feeling. An urge to buy Purcell handsanitizer in bulk.

So I went to various stores and bought it by the box. Enough to fill up my minivan.

Sure enough...this past week I have been selling those little dispensers out of the back of my car in local shopping centers (in front of the stores that are out of them) at a 1000 percent mark up from the normal retail price. Making tons of money! :D

Just kidding.

There is a book about ASD and extrasensory this or that. I would like to get it for my mom. She's had six decades of "coincidences". Together my ASD-like mom and I have had too many "coincidences" to not believe there is something going on. We wouldn't say we're psychic, but by golly it's really, really, really weird. I had two incidents just last week. I'm often being told "that's really weird that you just … called/mentioned that... because I just..." Dozens over the years. Mine are related to death (someone far away) or discomfort (someone close by). My mom's are related more to elation. Even my NT dad knows to pay attention to my mom's hunches. Although my mom and I are not often in contact and are 1,000 miles apart, she and I have had two situations in the past 20 yrs when we knew the exact moment something critical occurred to the other. I guess we're like whales. How far do whales sense vibrations? A quick search says their songs travel 100 km. Hmm, not quite so far.

Once is chance, twice is coincidence and three times is a conspiracy.

My ASD-like mom and I are in "conspiracy" territory.
