Even sauerkraut wouldn't make him edible.

Agreed. I don't hate him, I just think he's ridiculous and not someone who can be taken seriously.

one underestimates him at their peril. he is capable of much damage if left to his own devices.

I'd hate to see what he would be capable of.

Isn't this exactly how we ended up with Trump?

Maybe we should learn to take these 'ridiculous' people seriously.

Animaniacs was very entertaining but I haven't seen it since I was a teen. I was upset when I saw your post about technology stuff not working right. I automatically checked out on Ebay instead of being able to chose my payment details with PayPal & I was planning to use Pay In 4 so now I'll have a little less money available on my debit card this month. Thinking about Animaniacs just now cheered me up. Thanx :)

Loved Animaniacs. I still watch it with my kid. My avatar when I first joined WP was Chicken Boo who was my favourite Animaniac.

Couldn't agree more with you.

We should work harder on holding people accountable for what they say and do, not necessary taking them seriously as in their ideas and what they say are valid just because for example Musk believe it to be so.
I'm not claiming that it's your point or isn't, DuckH. I'm just giving my thoughts on it.

The obvious solution is journalist doing their job. I'm aware of the problems of doing so, but many journalist can do their work way better.
We have many simliar problems in Sweden as the US and many other parts of the world with the media and lack of push back on nonsense, mouth diarrhea, from people with power.

I don't believe them to be free speech absolutist. I think what Musk and similar people are looking for is speech without consequnces. Isn't that the real reason for Truth social and Twitter/X?
Wasn't Don Lemon supposed to create a "news" outlet with Musk and X? But after the slightest push back from Lemon on what Musk said in an interview with him, he was done.

Taking them seriously means ridiculing them instead of contributing to aggrandizing them. Trump didn't become a problem because he was occasionally mocked, he became a problem because he people bought into his persona as a great businessman when he was never more than a nepo baby.

Although, with Elon Musk, his involvement for foreign disinformation campaigns would make kinetic consequences justifiable.

I have seen Elon's deepfake ad with Kamala Harris. How can that be legal? When normal people does something similar or satirical they have to be upfront and clear about that it is, for example satire.

I heard something about that Elon Musk has done a targeted voter registration for the republican party which not might be entirely legal. Does anyone know anything about it?

One other thing that have reached Sweden is the Culture War. It's mostly the far right extreme party in Sweden who have incorporated it. Doesn't that (the war aspect) imply that they have a set of beliefs they want to push/force upon you with necessary means?
How does that align freedom, freedom of thought and free speech?

Elon has so many "fine" qualities that I forgot about this one. The anti democratic side of him.
