Well I thought I would ressurect this, and with good reason

LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163 Tornado

This locomotive is the one nearly everyone is talking about, the first steam loco built since the 60s, and only built up the road from me

it took a trip to London King's Cross, and will be there for a while

although this loco has the number 60163, it's mainline (TOPS) number is 98863 (all steam engines in the UK used on the mainlines are British Rail class 98)

I've yet to find a picture of the locomotive that is good, but there are plenty on Wikipedia

MS Train Simulator is the only thing I miss about having Windows.

Steam trains are amazing. The look, the sounds, the smells - they're so exciting!

yes, I did say people were interested in it, I'd actually love to see that engine myself, living near the town of it's construction maybe I can see it when it returns home

Now, many of you who frequent the chatroom will know that out of all the British trains built, InterCity 125 is my all time favourite

Below is HST locomotive/power car number 43301 (previously 43101 until engine replacement), and I have a great fondness for this particular HST locomotive, particularly due to the fact it was not used for years and it was left in a yard on blocks to just rot and fall apart

(creative commons license, unsure who the author is), this is 43301(43101) now

Click here to see 43301 (43101) in the severely decayed state it was in before CrossCountry decided to put it back into use, you have to scroll to the very bottom of the page though, and the notes on the page clearly say this loco was a near wreck

proof a loco can live on, with a bit of TLC

I cant say I have any technical knowledge about trains but I think they are cool and I like trainspotting
My husband is a traindriver and we both love to travel by train

Flying Scotsman is still in parts and still being refurbished, I'm eager to see the locomotive back on the main line
