Yes, efficiency is never going to be 100% ever. But it isn't due to some magical disappearance or appearance of energy. Say, you lift a box. Does TE = mgh? Simplistically, yes. Eh, it wouldn't be so bad if the world ended. After all, we wouldn't be around to suffer it. I think it would be kinda peaceful.

Hmmm I've been thinking about this and I'm much more worried about string theory than black holes being created what if they discover the end of the string and pull on it? Surely the universe will unravel

Seeing as one of the particles from the standard model was named gluon what do you think the chances are that if they don't see the Higgs Boson but yet another new particle they will be annoyed enough to name it the pissedoff?

that machine will not create armageddon

all it is is a particle accelerator which they are firing up in stages, and this, on the 10th is another stage in that
