I don't know what is meant by that.

Could someone explain, please?

There is a thread somewhere on this forum where there was a discussion about a WP online Christmas party. It's just a thread essentially that we can all post in and contribute to and we all act as though we are at a Christmas party.

I will more than likely pop my head in to the Christmas party to say hi, then slink away quietly...

What's the worst/most pointless/most disappointing Christmas present you've ever received?

I can't really think of anything that was pointless or disappointing even though I didn't always love everything.
I can name some really, really bad birthday gifts however.

I just remembered one. I was meeting up with BF2 shortly after I first met him. We went parking for lack of a better word, parked in his car for a quick ... visit. It was Christmas Eve and we'd said we would exchange gifts. I got him something really meaningful and sentimental. He said he forgot my gift.

I could tell he was lying and didn't have anything but I said it didn't matter. Then the next time I saw him he gave me earrings that you use when you get your ears pierced, with the really fat posts. They were birthstones, which is something kids wear. He knew I couldn't wear earrings and they were the wrong birthstone. It seemed like he just grabbed the first thing he saw in a shopping mall or jewelry store.

Months later I found out they belonged to his niece. They had given her an ear infection so she took them out and left them in the box at his house after a funeral. He gifted stolen, dirty, infectious children's earrings to me.

I found this out from his sister. He didn't tell me himself.

Eww that's just wrong...

I got a second hand toaster and a well used coffee percolator in a brown paper bag... I already had exactly the same toaster. The toaster was still full of crumbs too.

Have you ever needed surgery ?

I've had about 15 major surgeries, as recently as 2021.

Yes, twice.

Same question.

Twice; resetting a broken arm and removing a lump of meat that got lodged in my oesophagus.

Did you have an imaginary friend as a kid?

Yes. I was picked on a lot during my grade school years and middle school years,
so I felt I didn't have much of a choice.

If you speak with an accent, what is your accent mistaken for?

Half English, half Australian. English people think I sound Australian and Australian people think I sound British.

Have you ever had a moment when you feel like you and your pet completely understand each other?

Frequently.

Do you like your country's national anthem?

I do, particularly en français.

I'm not sure about this Aussie thing yet, though.

Do you avoid important things just so you won't need to make a phone call?

If I can get away with it at all, absolutely. I would avoid most verbal interactions if it were possible.

To me the Aussie anthem sounds a bit brash and a bit as we would say, 'up itself.' The New Zealand anthem sounds much more dignified.

What's the best advice you ever got?

I can't think of any advice I've been given, good or bad.
I've always been left to my own devices which ultimately fail.
