I found this little baby in the yard. Cute, isn't he? Wait, I really shouldn't say he, since we don't know yet...

What should I name him?

wow! what kind of yard do you have where little baby toitles like that just show up?

he looks a bit frightened, maybe the american revolution is scaring him...turtles/tortoises are anatomically disrinct from other reptiles. besides the obvious, they lack the lateral temporal openings in the skull that other reptiles such as tuataras have, and it's also different than the reptiles that would evolve to become mammals. we're synapsids.

dunno about any other anapsids besides testudines.

anyway, i like the name amir. maybe raeffi, or ciel.

i've been exposed to it more than ever in recent months, and it's really done a (positive) number on my wellbeing.

I have no exact idea what duinkerken is. And I'm very tempted to let it remain a mystery. A fleeting glimpse, a glimmer in my mind's eye.

Why did you choose to misspell his name? If he's named after the ninja turtle, why not just call him Donatello?

Because if 'Donna' is part of the name, it will be an appropriate name if 'he turns out to be a 'she'.

Ah, that's a really good idea actually! I need to keep that in mind if I get a new pet someday.

Do you have (or have you had) any other pets, Skilpadde?
I think you mentioned that having pet turtles is illegal in Norway.
