My sister had a baby last night... I am an auntie for the 7th time.

Going to go see my new nephew in a little while...

I wish people were born fitted with a little screen on their head that let you know what they were feeling. it could display little anime exaggerated expressions that change as they talk so you could go ohh now i get what you mean. plus it would be really funny to see someone whoa angry with an over the top anime tantrum expression on their head

Niece is doing well (far too stressful being an uncle).

Ha, since she's not even 2, she can't hobble on the cast -- back to the baby sling for her (which I think she prefers).

I love watching classic highlights of my fave sports teams.

It's amazing how it actually feels rather cold in the middle of summer when the max temperature is around mid 20s for a few days in a row. Because of low humidity here, it tends to feel cooler than the actual temperature most of the time. I'm wearing fleece top and bottom now.

Thanks everyone. I know that for the first couple of years of my new nephew's life, I will have a lot of fun with him. I remember when I was a teenager and my (other) nephew was a toddler, I actually had a lot of fun playing with him.

I think I do pretty well when playing/interacting with babies and toddlers, but unfortunately, the older they get, the more difficult it is for me to connect with them on their level. Maybe it's because babies are just happy to be held and played with, whereas the older the get, the more complex their wants and needs become. Who knows?

I've decided I'm going to try and believe in myself more, since loads of people have believed in me and helped me when I had difficulties.

The phone lines are out where I am........

I watched Temple Grandin last night, and there were several moments in which I was torn between wanting a hug from Temple's "hug machine" and wanting a hug from her Aunt Ann (played by Catherine O'Hara). I just really like Catherine O'Hara.
