Just got sold $30 worth of tickets in a PCYC raffle. Whenever I say yes they fail to bill my credit card, and then I claim it on my tax as a donation 8)

Just a question: If you find some picture or art or something on the internet that you like so much you use it as a dektop background, are you allowed to use part of it as an avatar here as well? I would like to...But I'm worried about copyright and all that...

I highly doubt someone would come after you for just using a piece as an avatar. I get my avatars from all over the Internet and have never encountered a problem.

I don't want to sound self righteous your only ripping yourself off :wink:

the other day my whiny farther (I make allowances his a boomer after all ie the selfish generation) complained regarding France with it's "high taxes" well guess what he payed A$8 for a passport photo here in Brisbane cbd $19 8O , so before he complains of "high taxes" (I think he cheats) he should consider this ditto the high prices/ relatively low taxes here , I laugh when people here say taxes are high here in Denmark it's 50 % of gdp right wingers ignore Denmark their beef seems to be with Sweden how's the usa economy doing these days , jokers :wink:

one way or the other where all going to be screwed .

If it's a well known artist I wouldn't worry. If it's a pic by some nobody off DA or something like that I'd message them and ask for their permission first.

Yes, this. If you find fan art (or completely original art ftm) by someone on the internet, and you really admire it, it would be kind to ask the person in question if they're okay with your converting it into an avvie.

I didn't ask Walt Simonson permission for my current avatar, though!

I got hit by the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon just now. No, I'm not joining a radical leftist terrorist cell (in spite of my socialist leanings)! :P
The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon means that you hear about something (a person, an event etc.) for the first time, and then in a very short timespan you hear/read about it again (even if it's not a current thing, like something that will show up in the news).
I was randomly Googling for Suriname-related things, and came across the site of 'Pink Oculus', but didn't really do much with it besides thinking that it was an interesting name; and just now I was fixing up to watch an online broadcast with new music videos, and by happenstance came across a song by Pink Oculus (who's a singer/songwriter/MC).

They couldn't meet the electricity demand and now there's no electricity on this >40C day. It's hot and dark. I can't even open the fridge. This is one of the things that remind me that WA is still an inferior state.
