In N.E. Scotland we have something similar called a floury bap. It can be used for any sandwich filling or as I like them turned upside down, smeared with butter and topped with Golden Syrup. Serve with a cup of tea.

I last ate some reformed dehydrated crisps [US chips] known as Walkers French Fries which did not resemble French Fries at all.
