Lars Ulrich of Metallica is a terrible drummer

Metallica once threatened to sue a local sex toy shop that was marketing a metal buttplug as "the Metallica"; they responded by renaming the buttplug "the Lars Ulrich".

Mandate year-round schooling for all children under the age of 19, with emphasis on literacy, maths and sciences.

Remove tax-exempt status from all religious institutions, and treat them like all other money-making corporations.

Permanently deport (e.g., "Banish") back to their country of origin any naturalized citizen that commits a felony or violent crime.

I will agree with #1 and #3.

Regarding #3, when Lucky Luciano was kicked out of the country, he was only kept out for a few years....then they let him back in again!

Thanks for the info on Brenda Spencer.

I think I read about her in Rolling Stone back when it happened. I can't recall exactly when that was, but it must've been back in the 1980s because The Boomtown Rats wrote their song, I Don't Like Mondays, after that, and that was in the 1980s. That song was about her, in case anyone didn't know it.

Oh and in case people don't know that about her, "I don't like Mondays" was what she said when asked why she shot everyone. :(

I am not sure if what I read is online or not. That was way before the internet. I remember when her photo was printed too. (ETA: The photo that won the photo contest. Now I remember it was also her self portrait, since every image in it was her.) It was printed in Scholastic Magazine I think? I remember looking at it and thinking there was something spooky about it. When the story came out about the shooting I recognized her quickly. Kind of a sinking feeling. No one could have predicted that, though.
Huh? What photo contest do you exactly mean? I know that she once had won a television by entering a photo contest, and the photo had something to do with dogs, she wasn't in it..
Also, she is not a schizophrenic. :P

I was talking about the "I Don't Like Mondays" person. I saw the photo, it was in Scholastic Magazine. That's a magazine/teaching aid in American schools. It has contests for those ages. I said the name of the magazine in the post you quoted.

Dear bOOts,

I do not believe that Ms. spencer is a schizophrenic, but she has tried to put the blame for her actions on anyone and everything but herself...she is due for her next parole hearing in 3 years.

Personally, I believe she should not be released.

Personally, I believe that this was pre-planned.

It is, according to Wikipedia.

Dear b00ts,
I do see your point, if there Is a chance of salvaging a life here, but there appears to be little or no change in her attitude and blaming others for her actions.

The Parole Board had to decide what is best for US even more than what she wants.

I live in the San Diego area, and frankly, I do not want her released back here.

57-year-olds can still fire guns.

Sell the United States Back to the Native Americans. They have a lot more respect for this land than any of us that are of European Heritage.

Spitting on the ground makes you look uneducated.

Playing music (either from your car or the radio) so loud that I can hear it through concrete walls (like my dorm) is rude and makes you look uneducated.

Playing music in the college commons so loud that I can hear it across campus is noise pollution, and you should be ticketed for disturbing the peace.

Giving people the finger makes you look like a jerk. It doesn't make you look any better than the person who insulted you. In fact, it often makes you look worse than them.

Just because someone doesn't believe in the same things as you (ex. politics and religion) doesn't mean that you can be a jerk to them.

Just because America protects free speech doesn't mean you should be hateful to those you dislike or don't agree with.

Listening to music with headphones so loud I can still hear it from a few meters away means you’ll be deaf at a relatively early age. Of course, you’ll annoy the hell out of a lot of people as you try to make up for it by playing anything you listen to even louder and louder.
