repeatedly i was awoken by my dreams, but by the time i got around to systematically recalling them, they evaporated, leaving only a vague stain in my memory.

a fragment of a larger dream i remembered, i was at one end of a large conference room and sitting at a large redwood elongated oval table, i looked over to my left and saw SNL comedian Kate McKinnon wearing a too-small angora sweater which bared her athletically trim midriff, and form-fitting jeans and italian shoes of high style, she was walking back and forth in an almost sashaying type of movement which accentuated her physical goods and made her hair wave, then when our glances met, she stared back at me with daggers in her eyes that were saying "don't you DARE look at me!" typically hollywood type. anyways, i sat across from some fella wearing my blue nylon windbreaker [or one that looked exactly like it], this fella looked directly at me and commented about how he wished his crotch was smooth like a woman's crotch, at the same time gesturing to his knee. i commented back to him words to the effect "that would look kinda weird on a guy to have a flat crotch, doncha think?."

Then what? The build? Wouldn't that fall under looks?

that was their snarky way of saying i was an overgrown 12 year old boy [as an adult]. IOW they thought i was immature and childish and socially ret*d.

Hmmm...

you're at a board meeting, trying to do business - but are distracted by the sexual provactiveness of a female board member. A lady played by Kate Mckinnon.

I consider Kate Mckinnon to be a hot female, but . She is SO talented that she does both male, and female characters on SNL, and (unless I am confusing her with some other celeb)I believe that she is lesbian, or bi, or like that in her private life. So to me Kate Mckinnon represents gender-bending. Don't know if that's what she means to you.

So its curious to me that you would cast her as a cisgender temptress in a dream (rather than some other more cisgender silver screen siren).

The guy wearing your jacket ( actually yourself perhaps?) expresses a desire to be...neuter?

Interesting imagery.

Any clue is what it means...to you?

^^^Blooiejagwa got to the heart of my dream when she said "like a ken doll." IOW not seen by woman as a man but instead as some kind of uncanny valley neuter creature best avoided.

I had that standard dream of being late and trying to get somewhere. It was late at night and I was trying to leave a building (no idea which), before the doors got locked. I forgot my phone. I ran back and tried to leave again without my handbag at which time someone started cutting and styling my hair. I loved the haircut and was flipping my hair around to admire it when I realised I was locked into the building like I'd feared. Then the building turned into one of my former University campus buildings. I was trying to remember my way through the building to a courtyard so I could get across campus. I ended up inside an American football sports stadium with sports reporters and smelly change rooms. I was trying to hide from the cameras so my profs wouldn't see me on camera during my seminar time. I couldn't remember how to get out of the sports stadium to go to my class, which was being held in a rotunda.

I do have "late" dreams a lot. I think many people do. It's likely something to do with anxiety. I also have a lot of dreams that I'm back at work again and I can't remember why. I'm always very upset and stressed that my disability leave has been cancelled somehow, and I'm trying to cope again with full-time work.

Another common dream for me is that I am getting a haircut at night, in a little clapboard house which (in real life) is close to where my GP works. It's near where my father grew up and where he's laid to rest. In the dream it's kind of 1950s feeling with a porch light and fireflies and I'm getting my hair styled with rollers. Maybe that had something to do with the nighttime haircut in that dream which I posted?

I have occasional dreams about trying to cross my former campus as well.

I have no idea what it all means except that being lost / late is obviously about anxiety.

for about a decade after i left work, i had hard nightmares about my work experience, usually featuring a worst-case scenario on steroids. i had dreams like that while i was working also, which would leave me exhausted in the morning when i had to hurry up and get ready for work. as for your dream [according to Dreammoods.com ], To see hair in your dream signifies sexual virility, seduction, sensuality, vanity, and health. It is indicative of your attitudes. If you dream that you make a drastic change to your hairstyle, then it means that you are taking a drastic, new approach to some issue in your waking life. To dream that you are cutting your hair suggests that you are experiencing a loss in strength. You may feel that someone is trying to censor you. Alternatively, you may be reshaping your thinking or ambitions and eliminating unwanted thoughts/habits. To dream that you are at the hairdresser implies that you are ready to change your attitude. You are ready for change and move in a different direction. To have a dream that takes place at night represents some major setbacks and obstacles in achieving your goals. You are being faced with an issue that is not so clear cut. Perhaps, you should put the issues aside so you can clear your head and come back to it later. Alternatively, night may be synonymous with death, rebirth, reflection, and new beginnings. To dream that it is night time, but it is still as bright as day, indicates that you now have clarity and insight into a once unclear situation. Something that was previously hidden is now being revealed to you. To dream that you are on a campus indicates your need to expand your thinking/knowledge and challenge yourself mentally.

Wow! Thanks for all that! In the haircut dreams I don't recall ever "seeing" my haircut. The dreams are first-person so I'm looking through my eyes like in real life, rather than being a character. There's no mirror so I don't actually see the haircut but I do feel the people brushing it and I have that "fresh haircut" feeling. I have another dream with a fictitious salon which is consistent from dream to dream, and I go there for last-minute manicures or eyebrow shaping. I'm always in a hurry without an appointment and they squeeze me in. It's weird because I don't do that in real life any more.

Let's just hope it all means I'm sexually virile, as you suggested! :P

I feel your pain. Those dreams are the worst. I have such a feeling of helplessness because I can't remember why I'm back at work. I go around telling everyone I have CPTSD and a stroke and autism and ADHD and agoraphobia and mutism and that I can't do my job because of a major breakdown. Half the time I'm in my pyjamas and stimming. It's just a terrible dream, the worst type of nightmare for me. I think I'd drop dead of panic if it ever came true.
