I really don't appreciate the checkout assistant at Aldi telling me to have a great day.

I don't even know what he means by this.

Does he mean that as soon as I step out of the automatic doors, I'm suddenly going to have a fantastic time?

If that is what he means, then he has been wrong on each and every occasion that he has said it and he's just wasting his breath.
