How totally awesome Katie Bowman, Brooke Thomas, Oliver Sacks, Daniel Kahneman, Wray Herbert, Atul Gawande, and Jane Goodall are (among many others). How fascinating neuroscience, neuroanthropology, and cognitive psychology are. How I discovered Foucault for the first time from a link in a thread posted in the women's section here, and how grateful I am to the person who posted the thread, for the indirect introduction.

And the sky is clear here, but it isn't hot. The clear, cool air and the autumn sunlight make the world of trees, plants, animals, shadows and ground contrasty, bright and compelling. The recent rain has brought out the scent of the dropped redwood needles and fruit, and put the car exhaust and other reek into the background.
