Thanks, Murihiku :)

I thought the frog and toad were cute too, so I added them as well.

The two above are both taken in the summer of either 1998 or 1999

And finally a great one of Viggo, taken by the tarn where Nemo swam:

Viggo looks particularly handsome in that photo. Had he been brushed especially? He looks very tidy for a long haired dog outdoors.

I particularly loved the turtle with the strawberry on the previous page. :D

Thank you! No, he hadn't been brushed. He is just naturally beautiful. It should be added that he wasn't the kind of dog who would roll in uhm unmentionable things he found outdoors. Unlike Sissi, our first dog. She bathed a lot! Viggo on the other hand was cat like in his hatred of baths. Can't blame him though. He had a lot of fur, and it took a long time for all of it to dry, even though we helped out by drying him with towels.

The strawberry eating turtle is very cute :D

He really should be on a chocolate box with that picture. You were lucky he didn't like rolling in stuff.

My dog has a complete loathing of baths, but he still rolls in gross things. Poo and dead things are his favourites. In fact, he found something earlier today so he just had a bath this afternoon. I'm not a big believer in regular baths for dogs, but he lives in the house with us, so there have to be limits.

Now he smells like vanilla. And he's sulking about it. 8)

My dog got a bath and her nails done yesterday, and I would have had sulking and pouting from her, but I took her for a walk and she forgot to be a martyr.

That was a good idea Sylkat. :)

I hate doing my dog's nails. He hates it too. He usually bites me. Not hard, just enough to get across the message that he is displeased.

Viggo hated baths and he didn't like having his nails done either. He never bit, but he tried to walk away.

When he understood that he was due for a bath, he lost his sense of hearing, and he forgot his name too. Once we got him in the bath tub, he'd howl and whine, making it sound like he was being subjected to mistreatment. Every time.
That was fun! Not.

He didn't see the point of being brushed either. But he did like to lie down on his way home when he was walked. (Anything to stay out longer!) And that was a good time to do the brushing. He didn't bother to walk away then.

One of the first times he was bathed after he came to us, he jumped out of the bathtub and ran past my mother and tried to hide behind me in the living room.

My dog randomly loses his sense of hearing too. Mostly when there are exciting things like bunnies or hares around.

We call it 'having painted-on ears', as his ears at that point are purely decorative, and don't seem to function at all.

wow, same here, with julie (julietta). we tried to clip them at home (did not work), took her to a grooming place. nope.
we tried to stay out of her sight, or she'd panic if she saw us.

sometimes she'll nip even if we only get her paw. at least she doesn't mind baths!

Haha, in my family we say "øra er til pynt" (the ears are decorative).

Viggo always wanted to greet animals he met. It didn't matter if they were dogs, cats, bunnies, sheep, horses, deer... He wanted to greet them all on his walks. He would whine when he couldn't.

Sissi wasn't like that. She was reserved, and not even interested in most other dogs. And she was a hunter; would chase after cats, birds and squirrels.
Also unlike Viggo, she reacted aggressively towards our other pets.

 Indeed! To make it even better, he was full of soap.
