Under some circumstances, most likely - but all that data has still to be downloaded initially and for (say) 6 identical images, 5 of them are wasted time and data allocation. I think a page refresh would also force it all to be reloaded from scratch.

True, I suppose the browser also needs to download information on all of them to check they are identical as well, which I suppose is just as bad as it loading the same text 6 times over..
Also, I noticed on my laptop screen, if inner quotes get big enough it screws up the page layout a little.

Yes - this creaky version of phpBB can make quite a mess of nested quotes if there's too much page formatting required to fit them into a screen space.
Occasionally, for no easily reproducible reason, it decides to lay the whole page horizontally halfway down a normal display. That's fun to navigate... :lol:

Most my experience is from later versions of phpBB3 so I usually don't have to deal with funny problems like these :lol:
