today i went to the electrical shop to purchase an energy saving bulb that would emit the same amount of light as a 150 watt incandescent bulb (a 28 watt bulb was what i was after). i asked the salesman for a 28 watt bulb and he asked me if i wanted a "soft" light or a "day" light bulb.

i asked him what the difference was and he said that the bulb with the "soft" light emitted a "soft" light, and the bulb that was a "day" light bulb emitted light like the "day" light.

i thanked him for his explanation and i told him i would think about it further, and i went and wandered through the aisles to see if anything else took my eye, but i began to have fantasies of really annoying the salesman. i became dimly aware that i was idealizing a defiantly scripted interaction with the salesman, and i started to smirk.

i imagined the following scenario as i was browsing:

me: day light you say?

salesman: yes. like daytime lighting.

me: which day?

salesman: sorry?

me: which day is the lighting like?

salesman: err...any day really.

me: not all days are the same.

salesman: are you trying to be smart with me?

me: not at all. i am just wondering which day the light that those bulbs emit equates to.

salesman (becoming defiant himself) : uhhh thursday.

me: thursday the what'th ?

salesman: thursday the 15th !

me: the 15th of what?

salesman : thursday the 15th of september

me: what year?

salesman: 2035!!

me: how can they tell what the light will be like then? in what part of the world are we speaking? obviously the day-lit side, but whereabouts exactly?

salesman (would have had enough by this time) : i think you better go.

me: so i am not now allowed to purchase a bulb from your fine inventory?!

salesman: get outa here!! !

me:i think you had better call the police.

salesman: i think i will!!

me: what? only think? if i were you i would get on the phone pronto and tell them of your plight that you can not help a customer decide what type of light bulb he wants.......

salesman: you are being a lunatic!! i'll call them.

me: and tell them that your concept of lunacy is a customer asking for information about light bulbs.

salesman puts his phone down on the table and tries to tell me one last time to go, and i pull out my phone and put it on the table and switch it's position with his phone while he is not looking at it, and i grimmace at him suddenly causing him to hastily pick up my phone (which he thought was his) to ring the police, and i use his phone to ring the police to report that he has stolen my phone that he is currently using to report me to them.

if i could settle the matter after the cops arrive, then i would settle for a dozen "soft light" globes in order to not press charges against him for stealing my phone.

I have two writing assignments out of the first three in this class which involve writing about myself. I dislike writing about myself. But I got the grade back on the first one, and it's a 98, so I'll press on with drafting the second one.

Hmm, the 2015 mustang is going to have a small fuel tank. A bit too small considering the consumption. You'll only get about 530km out of a full tank.

well the car you are interested in is certainly a very powerful car. i think i may have one in my forza garage, but for now, here is a 351 xb falcon GT (1973) attaining top speed. it is quite an archaic facsimile of the modern cars, but whatever. would you really need to go faster than 235 kph?

anyway, your silence is the measure of your attention so i will not expect any reply. i simply forget whether i posted this before or not, and so i will repost it. i have no chance against the supercars that i am racing, but i just want to floor the car since i never owned one.

Oh, boy, it sure feels great to be awake much earlier than normal.
